Card Reader - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Put your items into the chosen machine. Close the door. Select the amount. You can insert or swipe your card. If you tap your card or phone don't rush this. Wait until all the four LED lights have lit up. The Card Reader will say 'Thank you' once your transaction has been processed. 

The Card Reader has to say thank you before you can use the machine. Follow the instructions in the store. If the Card Reader does not say thank you your payment has not been processed. If you have a charge on your statement for an extra payment for a cancelled transaction this is a pending transaction from your bank which will generally fall off your transaction history the following business day.

The Card Reader is only a payment device, the more you pay, the more the card reader will take payment. We cannot refund the surcharge that the card reader provider charges. Please text the last four digits of the card to the contact number, the laundromat, machine number and someone will get back to you in the next couple of days. The machine cannot take your money, the only way this can happen is if you keep paying. If you have a problem, please refer to the instructions in the Store.

After you have paid for the selected machine, you need to use the machine control panel. The Card Reader is only a payment device. Doors need to be closed and the machine will do checks before it can start. Refer to the operating institutions in the Store.

Once you have paid using the Card Reader on a dryer, your credits can take 10-20 seconds to be applied to the dryer controller. If you try and do this too fast all your credits will not be applied, and you will need to press the start button on the dryer you selected to use them. If someone else uses another dryer from the same card reader before your credits are used they will use your credits. Pay attention and take your time to check your credits have been applied correctly.

Once you have paid using the Card Reader on a washer, your credits can take 10 seconds to be applied to the washer controller. Once payment has been accepted, select the temperature and ensure your items are clear of the door. Then press Start.

If you are using a Dexter Washer and the machine says door in the top right-hand corner of the LCD screen, the door has not been shut correctly. Do not pay again. Open the door all the way out and then close the door gently turning the handle down to the left. Then press the Start Button.

If you have an EDL error open the door all the way and close the door gently. This means you did not close the door correctly. Open the door all the way out and then close the door gently turning the handle down to the left. Then press the Start Button.

The Washer will only leak if you have your washing stuck between the door seal and the washer. Press the emergency stop button for 5 seconds and wait till the machine stops beeping. Once the machine stops beeping and the LCD screen says you can open the door, then fix your washing up. Forcing the handle will only break the washer. Once the washing is fixed up, you can then start the machine again. You can only do this once each cycle. You will then need to clean up any water.

The laundromats are cleaned daily, bins are provided, please put your rubbish in the bins as other customers also use the facilities. 

If you leave your laundry in a machine, it's your responsibility to collect it.

The door needs to be closed so the dryer door lock circuit is complete and will allow the gas to ignite. If the door is not closed the dryer will tumble but no gas will ignite. Your washing will still be like it was when you put it in.

If you select the low temperature, this will take longer. We recommend at least 30mins on high for a standard basket-size load.

Do not overload the dryer as this will take longer to dry as there is less airflow.

If you experience a problem, make a phone call and leave a message if you cant get through. If you don't leave a message your call will not be returned. 

Pay attention to the Closing times, which are listed in the laundromat. If you have left your items inside when Security has locked up, you will need to collect them the next business day.
